NEETA MORPARIA (b. 1955) IS A SELF TAUGHT MIXED MEDIA ARTIST WHO EXPERIMENTS WITH A VARIETY OF MEDIUMS RANGING FROM PENCIL, OIL PAINTS, CHARCOAL TO WATER COLORS.
Growing up close to the Bastar forests of Chhatisgarh, life didn’t always provide easy opportunities but that made Neeta either seize every opportunity that came her way or carve out her own path with self learning. It was through this persistence that her artistic journey began. Her work spanned a range of topics from wildlife to portraits to mythology but she was always restless for more and started experimenting with various mediums as well.
As a proud housewife, for over four decades Neeta’s art took shape as she carved out time from her busy day and painted— whether in the afternoons while her kids studied, or the stillness of late nights after everyone else’s day wrapped up. Her subjects often reflected the world around her, the wild landscapes she grew up in as well as the vivid imaginings fuelled by her favorite author Shivani.
After years of creating in the intimacy of her home, Neeta is now stepping into a new chapter, sharing her work with a broader audience.
